| ncRNA name | hsa-miR-24 |
| ncRNA Category | miRNA |
| Disease name | choroidal neovascularization (CNV) |
| Species | Homo sapiens |
| Tissues/Cell_line | human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) |
| Methods | transfection, qRT-PCR, Northern blot, Western blot, luciferase reporter assay |
| Expression pattern | up-regulated |
| Functional description | miR-24 has been shown to regulate apoptosis and inhibit cell proliferation. In the absence of miR-23 and miR-27, there is a compensatory up-regulation of miR-24 in our in vitro and in vivo knockdown assays. The potential role of miR-24 in angiogenesis awaits future studies. |
