| Functional description | miR-146a is considered a promising candidate for the treatment of uveitis. First, the effect of miR-146a treatment in disease amelioration was well shown in clinical scores, leukocyte infiltration in the aqueous humor, and histologic findings. Second, miR-146a treatment suppressed multiple proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, IL-6, IL-12p35, and IFN-γ. Third, the results of immunofluorescence, Western blotting, and EMSA revealed that miR-146a regulated the disease process in an NF-κB-dependent manner. |
