Functional description Compound 49b, a novel β-adrenergic receptor agonist, is protective in a type 1 diabetic rat model. Compound 49b was not able to improve b-wave amplitudes and oscillatory potentials when IGFBP-3 was knocked down with siRNA, suggesting that Compound 49b regulates retinal function through restoration of IGFBP-3 levels in diabetes.
