Detail of choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
ncRNA name CRYAA siRNA
ncRNA Category siRNA
Disease name choroidal neovascularization (CNV)
Species Homo sapiens
Tissues/Cell_line human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs)
Methods siRNA transfection, qRT-PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, Western blot
Expression pattern associated
Functional description The CRYAA siRNA not only induced HUVEC apoptosis but also inhibited exogenous and endogenous VEGF-induced cell activities, including proliferation, migration, and tube formation. In addition, CRYAA knockout led to increased levels of cleaved caspase-9 and caspase-3.
